A charity brings together men to discuss mental health every week Thursday in Macclesfield, is after a helping hand.

Mentell is a men's charity offering in-person and online talking groups to men.

They relaunched in Macclesfield earlier this year, and meet every Thursday evening at The Big Room CIC on Macclesfield's Pickford Street.

They are after new local facilitators which volunteer their time to help organise their weekly meet-ups.

In a statement emailed to Macclesfield Nub News, Mentell said: "Through open, democratic spaces we give every man who needs it, a chance to talk.We are growing at pace and now need caring and enthusiastic volunteers with a knack for guiding our weekly online and in person groups in the north west."

"As a Mentell Facilitator, you would empower men to take their first steps of their talking journey.

"Your approach would reflect core values of kindness, humility, mutual self-help and non-judgement and an understanding of the value of a shared lived experience. You will be instrumental in helping shape inclusive spaces that enhance our members' experience.

"You might be a retiree; someone in work seeking valuable life experience in support of professional development; a student with relevant knowledge to share; or someone who wants to give back.

"Being skilled in interpersonal dynamics, presenting, and team leading could be advantageous, but your lived experience with mental health is crucial.

"We're seeking men with the heart, time, and dedication to make a difference on one evening per week as volunteers. In return, you can expect to receive gold-standard training & development and to become part of a thriving community of men, offering something vital whilst giving back.

"Spaces are limited, and all candidates must be willing to interview, undertake mandatory training and clear DBS checks."

Successful candidates will be invited to their northern facilitator retreat running on October 4th-6th.
