20th Jun 2022 | Local News

June has been a big month for British music, from the Queen's Jubilee to Kate Bush's global domination.

So at Macclesfield Nub News, we thought we'd raise to profile of some musicians from our town to kickstart another week of our independent, Macclesfield journalism.

Here are three tracks from Macclesfield talent which have released in the last 30 days.

The C33s - I Am Michael Fagan

Macclesfield-Manchester band The C33s released their fifth track of the year this month.

I Am Michael Fagan is a hearty, quick track, with punchy guitars that will give you a spurt of Monday morning motivation.

Releasing a song which shares the name of the infamous Buckingham Palace bedroom intruder just after the Jubilee was quite the flex from this surf-punk trio. And it has done well, boasting 1,000 streams across streaming services.

You can listen to the track at the top of this article - which also has a music video - or by clicking here.

Hatty Keane - Oh What a Night!

A sensual, funk-twinged nu disco track with a cosy synthline Oh What a Night! is the latest single by Macclesfield's Hatty Keane.

A track which shows the breadth of her voice, both high and low, as well as quiet and loud, the breezy three-and-a-half minute track can be listened to here.

The former All Hallows pupil from Macclesfield has 20,000 streams of her new single on Spotify alone.

Sea Fever - Beleaguered Land

A 'no-nonsense indie track' featuring a Macclesfield guitarist has had 1,000 plays since it was released last Friday.

Beleaguered Land, the first new single by Sea Fever in 2022, features Macclesfield resident and Sutton-raised guitarist Phil Cunningham. The rest of his bandmates are Cheshire-based.

The New Order guitarist's new band are keen supporters of Macclesfield Nub News, and you can learn more about the new single by reading our full article here. The band will perform in Macclesfield next month at Bluedot Festival.
