There's more building works planned for a Macclesfield church.

There's already builders doing work to the exterior of St. Luke's Church, of Pavilion Way.

And now more work will be done to the interior too, should listed building consent be granted.

A new planning application on the Cheshire East Council website suggests the office is next to be refurbished.

The former chapel was built in 1871. The Victorian building was last refurbished at the dawn of the millenium.

It has been used as an office for the past two decades,

The new plans set to retain that office purpose, whilst tending to roof tiles and cast iron pipes which have 'fallen into disrepair', according to a planning document.

It wishes "to modify the internal layout and finishes applied in the previous refurbishment, which are no longer suitable for a contemporary office space."

The 'integrity' of the heritage of the building is claimed to be preserved from the new proposals.

Previous occupants of the building include Peak Software Limited, who moved out earlier this year to a new office in Alderley Park.

The former place of worship is located near The Pavilions, in a residential area of west Macclesfield.
