EE's new 5G tower in Macclesfield parish refused
Another 5G tower has been refused in Rainow again.
The application related to a replacement telecoms mast to be located in a field on Woodend Farm, to the east of Lidgett's Lane on Kerridge Road.
After 85 mostly negative comments from members of the public, and objections from Bollington Town Council along with the Peak District National Park.
Today, Cheshire East Council have responded to the plans for a 20 metres monopole, refusing permission for it.
The proposal by reason of its siting, height and appearance, at a visually prominent and open location when viewed from the south, west and from Kerridge Ridge to the east, would cause significant harm to the character and appearance of the surrounding rural area.
"The proposed development would be contrary to Policies SE1, SE4, SD2 and CO3 of the Cheshire East Local Plan Strategy, Policies, INF8, GEN1, and ENV 3 of the Site Allocation and Development Policies Document and Section 10 of the NPPF.
"The proposed development does not comply with limitations and conditions under paragraph A.2.(1) of Part 16, Schedule 2 of the GPDO, and Prior Approval cannot be granted."
The document went on to claim that a Developers Notice - an internal process required by Cheshire East planners - did not have details which corresponded with the drawings submitted with the plans.
Similar plans were rejected in April, before this just-rejected resubmission.
EE & Hutchinson 3G UK Ltd will be contacted for comment.
