A new community has brought together the techies of Macclesfield.

Macc.xyz held its inaugural event at Bollington Brewery Tap on Thursday, March 5.

Described as a monthly meetup for anyone involved in the tech industry, organiser Chris Garrett couldn't be happier with how things went.

He said: "The response we had was absolutely phenomenal!

"We had over 120 local developers, founders, designers, and tech operators completely fill Bollington Brewery's Tap Room on Parker Street.

"It was an incredible cross-section of our local digital economy.

"We had founders of promising early-stage startups talking with engineers, designers and tech operators from local household names like AstraZeneca, Barclays, and THG, alongside professionals from global brands like AWS, Zoopla, and Depop.

"It was a fantastic validation of what we have always believed - Macclesfield is a true frontrunner as a tech town, with a highly skilled, prolific tech culture right here on our doorstep."

Chris is looking to keep the momentum going with Macc.xyz's second event, scheduled for Thursday, April 2.
