Macclesfield's nightlife has been boosted by a new late night venue.
The Cave on Mill Street have opened their doors.
The Cave fills a gap in the market in Macclesfield's nightlife, following the closures of Popworld and indeed Urban Vixen earlier this year. Moreover, the bar is located where Urban Vixen used to be.
They will have a live DJ and themed nights. Upcoming events include an Urban Takeover and a Kevin and Perry-themed night.
The bar is the the concept of Steven Harvey, who has over ten years experience in the hospitality industry, and this is the second venue he has created.
He told Macclesfield Nub News all about The Cave.
"The long-term vision is for people to come and enjoy a night out in a safe environment", said Steven.
"There is a lot of negativity surrounding nightclubs. We are trying to work past that and create a nice safe environment for people to come and enjoy themselves on the weekend.
"We are pretty open in the range of drinks we sell, but we are trying to partner up with more premium brands.
"I am a strong believer that if people want to come on a night out, they want quality, they want proper drinks.
"I don't want all my drinks to be things you can get everywhere else, so we want to provide the best at an affordable price.
"The cost of living at the minute is hitting everybody. It is not fair that people are thinking 'I've got to pay my electric bill next week, I can't afford to go out'.
"You can come here for 20 quid, have a full night out here, decent drinks in a safe environment. That is what we are trying to achieve."
The Cave, which claims to be the biggest venue in town, are looking for more self-employed bartenders to work there.
Steven, who also runs a building company, has big plans for the future of the bar. So watch this space!
The late night venue is open four days a week. They have at least two security on, but like with their bar staff, can scale up the numbers in busier times.
Luxury tipples you can enjoy at the venue includes British vodka AU.
"If you want to enjoy premium drinks the only place you can get that is Manchester", added Steven.
"For that, you have to pay for a train or taxi, and have to be back by a certain time. So it is going to cost you a lot just to get there, and when you get to buying your drinks, you are paying over the odds.
"I am fighting tooth and nail with suppliers [to keep prices reasonable]."
As another way to generate revenue, the kitchen in the former Majestic and Revolution building is being used as a food delivery service on takeaway apps.
Rockefellers serves burgers, and can be ordered via this link. It follows a similar ethos of quality ingredients, which matches the price.
For the food side of the business, they are using Macclesfield ingredients, and use suppliers that are all in Macc, to support the local economy.
Please note: The food is to be delivered to your home only, and is not for inside the nightclub.
"My ultimate message to the people of Macc would be come on down," explained Steven.
"Good nights don't need to cost a lot of money. At the moment, we don't charge to get in here.
"Come to The Cave and make some memories, take some photos and enjoy yourself."
