Brat summer may be over, but Posh Brats has opened in Macclesfield this autumn.
Posh Brats opened in Macclesfield Grosvenor Centre today.
Products for sale range from soaps, bath bombs, wax melts, steamers and sachet tags.
Brittany de Staedtler is the owner of the new shop.
"It is great to open Posh Brats in Macclesfield," said Brittany.
"We will be open six days a week, 9am to 6pm and open on Treacle Sundays.
"Posh Brats has been going for 17 years now in markets and online, and in the past few years I have started distilling my own plants.
"Everything is natural, if it contains plants, which most of it does, then most of it is plants that we have actually grown or sourced ourselves.
"Every ingredient that we use is either sourced from the British countryside, or a British supplier. We only buy British. We don't import anything. We are all about supporting the local economy and keeping the money here in Britain.
"From seaweed from to the Highlands, to quince and bog myrtle grown locally. A lot of the stuff is wildcrafted, which means you forage with the permission of landowners or free land, and harvest things. You only ever harvest as much as you need. We are sustainably sourced.
"My background is in cosmetic chemistry. I have been doing it over 30 years. At the start, I was stuck in labs, and I refused to work in labs that are for animal testing.
"So I left the industry for a while, and then I came over here. I had a hard time trying to find a job, despite my qualifications. So I decided to start my own business.
"I began by researching books in Old English for old formulas. And where I could, I kept the formula as close as possible, as long as it was safe.
"Some of the formulas we use are over 400 years old. For example, our potpourri is great for people who react badly or do not like the smell of modern scented candles."
As well as modern bath bombs, a Victorian take on bath bombs are also for sale, which Brittany describes as "bathing in skincare."
"You bathe and take in the aromatherapy to take in the minerals, and do your body good," explained Brittany.
Unique scents in their products wild bluebell goat milk soap, and Victorian Rose.
Novelty products range from bath bombs that look like glazed doughnut, and pumpkin themed beauty products for this Halloween.
The space will also be used for product demonstrations in the near future.
"It still amazes me after all this time, the layers of fragrances that come out of plants.
"I recently distilled amber. It was amazing to unlock all those smells. My son was geeking out, saying 'these are smells of things that might not even exist anymore'.
"So we put it into a skin cream with quince."
Other than products that contain goat milk and honey, all their products are vegan.
"The Grosvenor Centre have been really supportive," added Brittany.
"It is great to see them supporting small businesses.
"And hello and thank you to all of Macclesfield, we look forward to welcoming you."
