An NHS worker is lacing up her running shoes to support her colleagues and patients.

Karolina Stepien-Bialy takes on a half marathon in the Lake District later this month.

In doing so, she will raise funds for the East Cheshire NHS Charity.

Karolina, medical workforce productivity lead at East Cheshire NHS Trust, said: "In September, I will once again be launching myself out of my comfort zone and straight into the pain cave, all in the name of charity.

"Last year, I ran the Manchester Great Run for ECNC. This year, I've apparently decided that wasn't traumatic enough, so I'm cranking up the mileage and taking on a half marathon… in the Lake District. Yes, the hilly bit of England!

"East Cheshire NHS Charity is a brilliant local charity working hand in hand with East Cheshire NHS Trust, and it would be wonderful if people could donate, even the tiniest amount.

"It will mean the world to me, especially because anyone who knows me knows that running is my least favourite pastime!"

East Cheshire NHS Charity works with local healthcare services to help them go above and beyond for patients, families and staff.
