Nub News looking to expand with new job opportunity
We are seeking a part-time graphic designer to join our creative team.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, a strong understanding of visual communication principles, and proficiency in industry-standard design software.
Nub News is a ground-breaking online local newspaper for towns across the United Kingdom. Our mission is to put "your town in your pocket" - we aim to make local news easily accessible on all devices, particularly mobile, without intrusive pop-up advertising, enforced surveys or clickbait.
We will ensure that our content remains truly local. Providing local news, community news, what's on, local business listings, classifieds, jobs, property and obituaries - all the staples of a good local newspaper.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the sale and business development team to create visually engaging designs that align and brand guidelines.
- Create compelling graphics for various marketing materials, including but not limited to, banner, marketing presentations, social media content, and presentations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure designs remain fresh, innovative, and relevant.
Requirements:
- 1+ year of professional experience in graphic design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects and styles.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with motion graphics and video editing software.
- Knowledge of web design principles.
- Familiarity with print production processes.
