Macclesfield woman celebrates six-month anniversary of fitness business
A Macclesfield businesswoman is celebrating the six-month anniversary of her new business.
Macclesfield mum and personal trainer Jen Harden (38), is helping to boost the confidence of women across the local community by delivering education through exercise.
The Macclesfield-based PT who specialises in training for women at all stages of life, is seeking to revolutionise the way fitness and weight loss is portrayed societally, by starting at a local level.
Jen commented: "Unfortunately society has led a lot of women to believe that they need to be a certain size in order to be happy and healthy, I'm on a mission to educate women in the local community that it goes beyond size, helping them to actually understand what their bodies need, at what stage of life".
Jen continued: "There's a lack of education around the benefits of particular exercises at every stage of a women's life, from pregnancy and postnatally, right through to perimenopause and then on to menopause".
Jen, who launched her local business in September 2023, is qualified in not only personal training but nutrition and works alongside other local businesses to provide education around living healthily and eating well.
Dr Laura Clark, Co-Medical Director of The Lifestyle Health Clinic, an independent Women's Health company based in Cheshire said: "It's so important that we are opening up the conversation around the benefits of exercise and good nutrition beyond physical appearance. They have such significant beneficial effects on the female body and mind throughout the ageing process and in reducing the risk of many long term health conditions.
"Jen's approach extends beyond weight loss or building muscle, by educating her clients through exercise, she's helping to empower the women in our local community".
Having recently launched her new 'Strength in Numbers' program which provides multiple benefits through strength training, Jen is dedicated to supporting local ladies to reap the benefits of such exercise particularly for those in perimenopause.
On average in the UK the menopause hits around the age of 51, with perimenopause starting for some women in their early 30's, which can often lead them to feel isolated and unsure of what is happening to their own bodies.
Through her sessions, Jen is hoping to empower women in the local community to enjoy exercise and their changing bodies.
Jen provides in person and online personal training and programming, online personalised nutrition support, small group PT sessions, prenatal and postnatal personal training.
