Music Time

Instrumental Workshop - Festival of Contemporary Music for All

As part of this year's Festival of Contemporary Music for All, KEMS Contemporary would like to invite instrumentalists to join them for a workshop and performance of Sound Scape which was created especially for the ensemble by Lorna Green and Julia Harding.

In Sound Scape, the players create their own landscape of sound using the melodic and rhythmic material in the score – it sounds different every time! The workshop is open to any curious instrumentalist who plays a melodic instrument – the music is flexibly-scored, and players can adapt the parts to suit their own playing ability and instrumental ranges.

The cost is £10 per participant (maximum of 20) and registration is via the KEMS website KEMS Contemporary Sound Scape Workshop so to ensure we have the correct music (clef and key!) for each participant.

The afternoon will conclude with a performance of Sound Scape at 4pm followed by a short concert (free entry) by KEMS Contemporary Ensemble.
