Co-op food stores across Macclesfield arranged an 'egg-stra' special delivery for children and nurses who were spending Easter in Macclesfield and hospitals and hospice.
Dave Dundas, Manager of the Co-op's West Park Drive food store and Co-op Member Pioneer Charlotte Percy - who helped to organise the collection – were among colleagues handing over approaching 250 Easter eggs and chocolate treats donated by members, colleagues and customers of the Co-op in Macclesfield, Bollington and Prestbury.
Eggs were donated to East Cheshire Hospice on Millbank Drive; Macclesfield Hospital Children's Ward and The Christie Hospital Macclesfield on East Cheshire NHS Trust's Victoria Road campus.
Dave Dundas, Co-op Store Manager, Said: "It is heart-warming that so many people are keen to make a difference and think of others, providing an Easter treat for children - and nurses and doctors - who will be spending time in hospital over the Easter period – the response has been fantastic and we would like to thank all our members, customers and colleagues."
The delivery was complete with a photo outside The Christie Macclesfield, which opened in our town late last year.
