Old cat named after Disney character seeks new home following owner's dementia
An elderly cat seeks a fur-ever home, after their previous owner had to give them up due to illness.
Tigger is a male domestic shorthair cat after a new home in Macclesfield.
The 12-year-old cat, currently being fostered in our town, is looking for a new home with the help of RSPCA Macclesfield.
The old kitty, who is named after the Winnie the Pooh character of the same name, hopes to live his final years in a new loving home.
Tigger's previous owner had to give their pet up due to dementia.
RSPCA Macclesfield said: "Tigger is a big confident cat who settled in quickly, finding unique places to sleep due to his size."
"He was in a foster home for a few weeks before moving into the cattery. Friendly, and likes a fuss, but can get over excited at times, he would suit a child free home.
"He is very sweet and playful. But he has a habit of grabbing and biting. He is getting better but he needs a very experienced, patient home that will work with him. But has started to settle down since his foster home.
"He has started to play and really enjoys cardboard boxes!
"We were contacted by Tigger's very elderly owner's Support Worker because she had been suffering badly with dementia for several years and passed away.
"Tigger was already neutered and microchipped. We got him his booster, he needed a dental which resulted in three extractions and he had his claws cut as they were very long. We have a full 12 year veterinary history, he was very well cared for!
"If you'd be interested in sharing your home with our Tigger, please contact our Rehoming Co-ordinator on: [email protected]."
