Our Over-45s can now book their first Covid vaccine
Over 45s in Macclesfield and the surrounding area can now book their first Covid-19 jab.
This is as all UK adults, aged 50 or over - or those classed as clinically vulnerable - have had their first dose offered.
This vaccination target was met three days ahead of the April 15 deadline, for protecting the nine priority groups identified by central government.
Over 45s can arrange your vaccine appointment by ringing 119 or through through the national booking service.
Vaccine availability for those aged 45 or over means more good news for our vaccination programme, which have inoculated 27,107,590 people with their first dose by the end of 11 April 2021.
There were just three people testing positive for coronavirus in Macclesfield Central in the seven days to April 7th, below the national average.
Beyond Macc, 53 Cheshire East Locals had a confirmed positive test result between 6 April 2021 and 12 April 2021. This figure is down 46.5% on the previous week.
Government data suggests there were two deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 12 April 2021.
Six Cheshire East residents have died within 28 days of a positive COVID-test within the last week. A figure down by a third from the previous seven days.
According to East Cheshire NHS Trust, there were three patients in hospital with coronavirus on 6 April 2021. None of these are on a mechanical ventilator.
