Parents told to have a word with kids after unauthorised fishing in Macclesfield
There have been reports of unauthorised fishing in south east Macclesfield.
And a police officer has urged parents of young fishermen and fisherwomen to have word with their children.
Knights Pool, owned by Prince Albert Fisheries, requires a permit or a day pass to fish in the lake.
If you do not have one, it is an offence to do so and could lead to a fine.
PC Jim Newns of Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team said: "Unfortunately there have been reports of unauthorised access and fishing at Prince Albert Fishery Knights Pool."
"Identification of local youths responsible is currently ongoing and those responsible will be dealt with accordingly. For those of you who's children fish, please have a word with them about this issue and contact me via [email protected] with any information that may assist us with our investigations."
The Macclesfield fishing lake contains a variety of fish. The water contains species like carp, tench and pike. It is also a 20 minute walk away from Pet Food Supplies, the tackle and bait shop in south Macclesfield.
According to GOV.UK, in the UK, the fine for fishing without a license can be up to £2,500.

Prince Albert Fishing Society was founded in 1954, from anglers who met at the Prince Albert pub in Cheshire.
While the pub has since become flats, the legacy of the pub lives on in the anglers club.
Prince Albert Fishing Society has been contacted for comment.
