Police investigate reports of 'bleeding man carrying a knife' at Macclesfield park

Police are investigating reports of a bleeding man carrying a knife at a Macclesfield park.
At around 4.21pm on Thursday, September 18, officers in Macclesfield responded to reports of an incident in the South Park area of the town.
The caller reported that they had been approached by a group of children who stated that they had seen an unknown man who was bleeding and carrying a knife.
Following a number of enquiries, officers located a 34-year-old man who had sustained facial injuries.
The man was subsequently searched by officers, and no knife was found on his person.
A wider search of the area was then conducted, but still no knife was recovered.
At the time of writing, no arrests have been made.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson added: "A number of enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing."
