Police provide update following reports of flasher at Macclesfield Forest
Police have provided an update following reports of a flasher.
Officers have been carrying out targeted patrols in Macclesfield Forest amid reports of a man exposing himself.
Both uninformed and covert officers have visited the areas where the incidents have been reported.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "We haven't had any further reports of 'flashing' but we will continue to actively patrol the forest and the outer perimeter.
"If anyone has any further information please contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting 25000055471.
"If you do see a male exposing himself, call 999 and ideally provide a What3Words location so we can make to the area to locate him."
Police first launched an appeal for information about the flasher at the end of January.
It followed a number of indecent exposure incidents in Macclesfield Forest over the course of several months.
The suspect, described as being white and in his 20s to 30s with dark hair, exposed himself to women walking in the area.
Sergeant Claire Lloyd said: "While he doesn't make any attempt to approach them, it does cause them some alarm.
"We are actively making enquiries to find this man and are urging anyone who sees him to ring us immediately on 999 with your What3Words location so we can make every effort to catch him.
"If you haven't already, you can download the What3Words app from your phone app store.
"If you have seen similar incidents, but haven't reported it to police, please get in touch.
"Everyone has a right to feel safe when they go for a walk in the countryside.
"We will not tolerate this behaviour, and again would urge anyone who sees him to contact us immediately."
