A gorgeous garden in an idyllic Macclesfield village is opening to the public to raise money for a good cause.

Parvey Gardens in Sutton will welcome the community to raise money for a slew of cancer charities.

The three acre greenspace has different areas to explore, and will open on April 22, which coincidentally is Earth Day.

It will also be open the following day (St. George's Day) before shutting again for an autumn session at the end of the year.

Highlights include a Himalayan Cedar tree majestically situated at the front of the house, plenty of fruit trees, shaped box hedges, a tennis court lawn, spring flowers, birds and deer.

Speaking on behalf of the Macclesfield garden, Tanya Walker said: "We are opening the doors to our beautiful garden to raise money for a lot of different charities under the umbrella of the National Garden Scheme."

"We are going to open the garden not just one, but twice per year - in Spring on April 22 and 23, and in Autumn on October 14 and 15.

"The opening hours will be 10:00 - 17:00 on these four dates. We look forward to welcoming you.

"In addition to that, a private tour is available if requested in advance for groups.

"In 2022, nearly £2.5 million was donated through the National Garden Scheme across the UK. We all know someone who fought a battle or still fights a battle with cancer, and we are proud to be able to raise money and support charities, that look after people, when they need it most.

"We want to ensure that as many people as possible will come and visit. Together we can make a difference and help significantly others, who are in need

"We hope that our contribution will reach and improve the lives of many people."
