Public invited for behind the scenes look at Macclesfield Hospital

A fascinating, free peek at out hard-working NHS staff will occur at an event this month.

It is the first time such an event has been held since the COVID-19 pandemic.

East Cheshire NHS Trust's 'Health Matters event' is set to return later this month with a new series of talks lined up for the public to hear more about the work going on behind the scenes. Don't miss out on this fabulous chance to hear from the specialists working at your local Trust!

The event, which used to regularly take place before the COVID-19 pandemic, showcases the dedicated work of Trust consultants, clinicians and staff to provide local communities with fantastic healthcare.

Open to the public, the evening event will return on Thursday November 30 from 7pm until 8.30pm in the Lecture Theatre at Macclesfield Hospital.

The first event will see Nicola Biggar (pictured), Head of Midwifery, share the journey of her department throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and the return of maternity services to Macclesfield Hospital earlier this year.

East Cheshire NHS Trust Medical Director, John Hunter, said: "We're really looking forward to bringing back our much-loved event 'Health Matters'.

"Before the pandemic it was really popular, and we're excited to be to sharing our fantastic programme of talks that are lined up for the new series. I am particularly excited that Maternity services is taking centre stage at the first event this month.

"Please encourage your family, friends and neighbours to come along – it's a great opportunity for people to hear first-hand from our specialists about the amazing work that takes place behind the scenes across our services."
