Rare Bob Dylan artwork to be sold in Macclesfield for big money
Artwork by the singer-songwriter Bob Dylan will be sold in Macclesfield this month.
He's known as counterculture icon and music legend, but Robert Allen Zimmerman has also cultivated a successful (if a little under the radar) painting career.
And on Tuesday May 23, a piece of art by him will go up for sale in Manchester.
It could go under the hammer for up to five grand, with Hurdsfield auctioneers Adam Partridge giving an estimate of £4,000 - £5,000.
The prints are believed to have been made on the Never Ending Tour between 1989 and 1992.
The description describes the lot as: "BOB DYLAN (born 1941); 'The Drawn Blank Series', a set of four limited edition giclee prints, 'Woman in Red Lion Pub', each numbered 232/295, numbered and signed in pencil, 70 x 56cm, in presentation folder with certificate for each print from Washington Green Fine Art."
It is one of the most valuable items in their upcoming arts auction. But it is not the only rock and roll item, as a signed guitar from Stevie Ray Vaughan will also be flogged for thousands of pounds.
