A schoolboy was threatened with a knife.

All Hallows Catholic College has sent an email out to parents and guardians after one of their pupils was approached by three masked men armed with a knife.

This happened at around 8pm on Thursday, February 27, in the Bollin Meadow area.

Thankfully the student was not harmed.

The email, sent on Friday, reads: "A male student was approached by three males in balaclavas, with a knife.

"This happened approximately 8pm last night in the Bollin Meadow grasslands area, between College and Chester Road.

"The incident has been reported to the police.

"Please can you speak to your child about the importance of being vigilant and keeping themselves safe whilst out and about.

"The student is shaken, but otherwise safe and uninjured."
