Send a birthday message to Macclesfield's East Cheshire Hospice

Macclesfield's East Cheshire Hospice - celebrating its 32nd birthday today (Wednesday 20 May) - has issued a last-minute call to the local community to support a special initiative to help boost the spirits of nursing staff.

The hospice wants to compile a montage of video messages from supporters to share with the dedicated team.

But an appeal for footage has so far generated a lacklustre response.

And with the deadline for submissions looming the hospice is now hoping for a final flurry of contributors.

"At the moment it is hard for our nurses to keep doing their normal day to day job," said a hospice spokesman.

"Due to coronavirus the nurses, along with all the other workers still at the hospice, are having to change their way of working dramatically.

"But they are working extremely hard to make sure that the patients staying with us get the best care and support possible.

"To keep their spirits up we are asking for video messages of support to tell the staff still working at the hospice how much they are valued and appreciated in the local community.

"We hope to put together a video montage of messages to show to the nurses to encourage them to keep going through these difficult circumstances.

"Unfortunately, we've received very few videos so far and have our fingers crossed there will be many more by Friday as we will be compiling them next week."

You can send your video via direct message on the hospice Facebook page or upload it on their website.
