A west Macclesfield pub is to become housing.

The Prince Albert, of 140 Newton Street, will become a shared accommodation seven-bedroom home.

The multiple occupation residency was approved last week. It will come with bin and bike storage,

The beginning of the end came for the pub in mid-2020 due to COVID regulation breaches, and now there is no chance of it coming back as a pub now after councillors voted for the accommodation go-ahead.

Residents of Newton Street may wish to know that work on constructing the new shared living quarters is only allowed from 8am to 6pm during the week, and 9am to 2pm on Saturday.
