Sheep savaged by dog near Tegg's Nose Country Park

A sheep was savaged by a dog near Tegg's Nose Country Park.
Cheshire Police's Rural Crime Team are currently investigating a livestock attack that occurred between 6pm and 7pm on Monday, May 18, in a field just below the popular beauty spot near Macclesfield.
It is understood that sheep were chased by the dog, with one of the animals suffering serious injuries to its neck.
Thanks to the quick response of the farmer, the sheep has survived.
PC Rob Stordy said: "A reminder to all dog owners – livestock worrying legislation has recently changed with offences now carrying tougher penalties!
"It is your responsibility to always keep your dog under close control around livestock!"
Police have said that an adult white male wearing a white baseball cap and a black jacket was seen in the area at the time of the attack, walking a brown dog described as 'significantly smaller' than a border collie.
