Silver medal for recent Macclesfield resident Ethan Vernon
An Olympian with connections to Macclesfield has won a silver medal in Paris.
Ethan Vernon and his three teammates narrowly came second in the men's team pursuit just before 6pm on Wednesday.
A nailbiting final with Team GB only losing it at the last minute, saw the recent Macclesfield resident finish with a silver medal.
Ethan lived in Macclesfield when he came in seventh at Tokyo 2020, and now Ethan and his teammates has gone five step further this time around with a silver medal.

"Gutted but also proud of this Olympic Silver. Los Angeles 2028, we will be back," wrote Ethan on Instagram.
