Macclesfield dance academy celebrates 16th anniversary in style with annual showcase

Sylk Dance Academy celebrated its 16th anniversary in style.
Over 100 dancers, gymnasts and cheerleaders came together for the Macclesfield dance school's annual showcase.
For the fourth year running it took place at the Clonter Opera Theatre in Swettenham, giving students a chance to perform in a professional setting
"We want our members to experience the joy of performing at a professional theatre," said Amy Mayers, principal at Sylk Dance.
"It makes them feel special and proud to be part of such an amazing production."

This year's showcase, on April 26, drew an audience of nearly 400 spectators, a testament to the growing support and enthusiasm surrounding the academy's work.
The high attendance also reflects the dedication of the performers, and the impact Sylk Dance Academy has within the community.
Seen as a chance to celebrate students' achievements, every pupil is given an opportunity to perform at the showcase, regardless of age or ability.
Caroline, parent of Rosalynn Stainforth who has been at the academy for nine years, said: "The show was simply amazing.
"Everyone was transfixed.
"The children were a credit to Amy and the teachers at Sylk.
"Just phenomenal.''

Sylk welcomes students from across Cheshire East and even as far as Buxton and Leek.
A wide variety of genres are on display at the annual showcase, including contemporary dance, street dance and cheerleading, meaning both members and non-members can truly appreciate the different styles and effort that goes in to creating what happens on stage.
Amy said: "It's amazing to see all of these children come together with their loved ones to commemorate another year.
"'We look forward to welcoming new members over the coming months who will be working towards next year's showcase, along with other exciting performances, competitions and exam opportunities.
"It's a busy season ahead!''
