A day of family in Macclesfield fun helped raise thousands of pounds for a worthy local cause.

The Rossendale Trust's annual Shine A Light Festival brought Victoria Park to life on Saturday, July 11.

Thanks to the support of event sponsors, raffle ticket sales, donations, fundraising activities and stalls, the event generated almost £10,000 for the charity that supports adults with learning disabilities.

Susanne Tidswell, head of P.R. and fundraising at the Rossendale Trust, said: "Shine A Light was a fantastic success and a reflection of the incredible support we receive from our local community.

"Our festival is about much more than fundraising. It's an opportunity to bring people together, celebrate inclusion and showcase the amazing community we have here in Macclesfield.

"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the day so special.

"The funds raised will help us continue providing life-changing opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, enabling people to live full, meaningful and independent lives."

The Shine A Light Festival featured live music, children's entertainment, local crafts, food and drink, community organisations and activities for all ages, creating a vibrant celebration of inclusion and community spirit.

The Rossendale Trust would like to express its sincere thanks to its headline sponsor Jordan Fishwick and Specsavers Macclesfield, whose sponsorship also played a vital role in making the event possible.

The trust is equally grateful to the many local businesses, market traders, food vendors and community groups who took part in the festival, as well as the businesses that kindly donated prizes for the Grand Summer Raffle. Their generosity and support helped make this year's event one of the most successful yet.

Most importantly, the Rossendale Trust would like to thank everyone who came along to support the festival.

Whether buying raffle tickets, enjoying the entertainment, making a donation or simply spending the day with family and friends, every visitor contributed towards the event's success.

Last but by no means least, the Trust would like to recognise the dedication of the dozens of volunteers and staff who gave up their time to organise and run the event.

Their commitment behind the scenes ensured the festival was safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone who attended.
