Macclesfield's newest summer festival proved to be a huge success.

The Rossendale Trust hosted the inaugural Shine A Light Festival at Victoria Park on Saturday (July 12).

Organised in partnership with Space4Autism, the free-entry event drew hundreds of families from across the region for a day of music, entertainment, and charitable spirit.

"The atmosphere was incredible," said Sue Heaven, head of PR and fundraising at the trust.

"From the performances and games to the artisan stalls and delicious food, the whole community came out in support – and we are so proud to have created such a special day for everyone."

Shine A Light showcased a rich programme of live performances, including crowd-pleasing sets from Dean Valley Choir, Rock Choir, Puss Bank Singing Squad, Bee Superior Dance Academy, Chordiality Choir, and The Rockerfellas.

Beyond the stage, the park buzzed with activity as children enjoyed inflatable games, sports activities led by Macclesfield FC Community Sports Trust, and circus-skills workshops.

Meanwhile, adults explored artisan stalls and indulged in delicious offerings from food and drinks vendors.

The festival also provided a platform for local charities such as Just Drop In, Smile, Macclesfield Community Tree Nursery, and ArtSpace.

None of this could have happened without the support of sponsors Jordan Fishwick Estate Agents, Macclesfield Town Council and GEC Home.

With overwhelmingly positive feedback and a clear appetite for more, the Rossendale Trust is already exploring plans to make Shine A Light a regular fixture in Macclesfield's summer calendar.
