Did you get caught out by our April Fools?
You may have seen an article earlier about the Silk Museum having invented a glow-in-the-dark silk by crossbreeding worms.
Unfortunately for the fashionistas amongst you, this was all completely made up!
We weren't the only ones pulling pranks today, with plenty of Macclesfield businesses getting in on the spirit of April 1.
Here's a round-up of some of the best local April Fools' Day jokes.
Macc Beer Fest - Dress code

Macc Beer Fest has announced a mandatory dress code for this year's festival.
All attendees must wear lederhosen!
The event's Instagram page posted: "Although… we wouldn't hate seeing this. April Fools!"
Wood Fire Smoke - Pizza Pilates

The Chestergate pizzeria claimed to have teamed up with neighbours Balance Pilates to launch a new class - Pizza Pilates.
Their Instagram post read: "Splits, slices, planks & pizza, what more could you want?"
Wright & Morten - Dinosaurs

Wright & Morten Vets shared that they were expanding their exotic care to include velociraptors and T-rexes.
"Please remember to keep them on a leash in the waiting room at all time," read the veterinary clinic's Facebook post.
Yas Bean - Coffee puffer jackets

Yas Bean announced the launch of a new product.
You can now get a puffer jacket for your coffee!
On-brand as ever, the jacket comes in a bright pink colour to match the Buxton Road shop's exterior.
Bollington Musical Theatre Group - Kinky WellyBoots

Bollington Musical Theatre Group directors Matthew and Diane were informed that due to health and safety regulations, they would no longer be able to perform in high heels for their upcoming production of Kinky Boots.
"Matthew is sobbing, Diane is smashing shoe boxes, and chairman Craig is sitting back watching the carnage unfold secretly quite taken with the idea of sparkly red wellies," read the group's Instagram post.
"We will now be producing Kinky WellyBoots as our May show. 12th-16th May 2026."
Shrigley Hall - Dog spa

Pooches are set to get pampered as Shrigley Hall announced plans for a dog spa!
The Georgian hotel's social media post read: "You barked, we listened....
"Due to demand, coming soon to Shrigley Hall"
Marc Jackson - Cartooning monk getaway

Marc Jackson, from Room for Comics, revealed that he is heading on a two-year residency to join cartooning monks in the Himalayas.
"Comics is a hectic business and getting the chance to work with the monks and their alternative approach to creativity is one I'm very much looking forward to," Marc said.
"This is also my last photo and post on the socials, as telephones are not allowed at the school. This will be a cleansing two years, and I will be a changed cartoonist because of it. Hopefully for the better. I thank my wife Jane and all my family for the support. I've left some meals in the freezer."
St Paul's - Rooftop terrace

St Paul's unveiled plans to create the UK's first rooftop terrace on a church.
"Affording stunning views over Macclesfield towards Manchester and into the Peak District, the roof top terrace will take open air worship to new heights never experienced before!" read the church's Facebook post.
Wardens Matt and Nick said: "What an absolutely fabulous open-air opportunity lending itself to our stunning building.
"We can not wait to see how this develops and takes not only worship to new levels, but what a place for Saturday coffee too!
"They'll be bursting at the seams each week. A great way to fool proof the future of this place.''
