Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club ready to open the doors to new home in Macclesfield
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 30th Jan 2026
A Macclesfield jiu jitsu club has found a new home.
Stealth BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) Macclesfield officially launches its new gym on Bridge Street this Sunday, February 1.
Already supporting over 130 members, owner and head coach George Stephens is looking to take the club to the next level in 2026.
The 23-year-old said: "Anyone can do it!
"The youngest member we have is three years old and the oldest is 60, so it's a sport that really suits a wide range of people.
"For those that don't know, the way I describe Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is all the stuff they do on the floor in UFC. So wrestling. ground fighting and submissions."

George was born in Macclesfield but moved to America at a young age, returning to Cheshire in his late teens.
He has been practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since he was eight years old and first started to realise it could be more than a hobby when he was 15.
In 2022, Stealth BJJ Macclesfield launched at Adelphi Mill in Bollington.
It later moved to a space on Bond Street before relocating to its new home at Bridge Street Mills at the end of 2025.
George and the team have spent the past two months getting the space ready ahead of Sunday's grand opening.
They are planning to celebrate the relaunch with a seminar hosted by black belts, Logan Smith and Rafael Rosendo.
