The Silk Museum has announced a landmark partnership with the North Pole.

It will see Father Christmas himself come to Macclesfield to meet local families on Saturday November 21, December 5, and December 12.

Head curator of the Silk Museum, Kathryn Warburton explained: "Following the success of last year's event, Santa has very kindly agreed to come back to the Silk Museum.

"Our volunteers had to pull off some serious top-secret negotiations at the North Pole, involving batches of freshly baked mince pies and a sincere promise to weave Santa some new silk pyjamas, to secure his return!

"But it worked, and he's officially trading his sleigh for a train trip to Macclesfield."

A spokes-elf for the North Pole added: "We are delighted to confirm that we will once again be trading our snowy expanse for the industrial charm of Macclesfield.

"Santa has already started brushing up on his local knowledge and is very much looking forward to meeting Macclesfield families.

"The museum's volunteers drove a wonderfully hard bargain with those silk pyjamas, so we know visitors are in for an exceptionally magical experience this year!"

Old Saint Nick will spend his time in the Silk Museum's machine gallery, which will be magically transformed into a Winter Wonderland filled with twinkly lights and festive cheer.

Alongside meeting Santa, children will be able to travel back in time to play with traditional Victorian toys and dress up in Victorian costumes.

There will also be craft activities and every child will receive a small gift to take home as a memento of the day.

Tickets are priced at £10 per child, and just £8.50 for further children in the same group.

Timeslots are available at at 10.15am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
