Thursday (20/03) - Night of Comedy, Burlesque and Cabaret

Get the weekend started off right with a night of comedy, burlesque and cabaret.

Taking place at the Queen's Hotel, the event is a celebration of host Jinn Legion's birthday.

They will be joined by from Freida Nipples, Roxie Royale, Diomede, Seeta Wrightson and Lulu Simons.

Thursday (20/03) - Macc Lit & Phil: A Lot of Hot Air

Macc Lit & Phil's next event will be a talk from Matthew Patterson, a postdoctoral research assistant in the Department of Meteorology at Reading University.

His research interests include the long-term predictability of seasonal weather patterns as the climate changes.

He will be discussing how the jet stream controls our weather and how it might change as the climate alters.

Thursday (20/03) - Blue Plaque Unveiling

A blue plaque commemorating the life and work of Macclesfield musician Will Read is being unveiled at Mash Guru.

Will famously appeared with The Showbears on Britain's Got Talent and toured with Gloria Estefan as backing vocalist and percussionist.

Sadly, he passed away in August 2024, aged 51.

This free event will feature live music from a house band that includes Will's friends, family members and special guests.

Friday (21/03) - Music@Mike's

Following a two month reordering project in church, St Michael's is now fully open again.

The first lunchtime concert of 2025 takes place from 1.15pm on Friday.

Local pianist Julian Davis and violinist Simon Evans will be playing pieces by the Czech composers Dvorak and Janacek.

Friday (21/03) - MaccPride Karaoke All-Stars Finals

MaccPride have brought together winners and runner-ups from the past five years of their karaoke challenges for an all-star final.

Drag queen Stella Black will host the event.

Meanwhile, two of the guest judges will be performing - award winning actor Michael Dawes and up-and-coming drag artist Kimbella Willow.

Saturday (22/03) - Children's Dance Class Taster Sessions

A new rhythm tap and creative dance class is coming to Bollington in April.

Ahead of this, Sole Rebel are hosting free taster sessions on Saturday.

There are separate sessions for different age groups, ranging from two to 10 years old.

Sunday (23/03) - Afternoon Tea Fundraiser

You can treat your loved one to an early Mother's Day gift on Sunday.

It's Space4Autism's yearly 'Afternoon Tea' fundraiser.

All of the money raised will help to keep the social clubs running.

Walkies for Windyway

Take your four-legged friend on a walk in aid of Windyway Trust.

Register at Tegg's Nose Tea Room before setting off on the clearly marked route.

Donations of £1 per dog and £1 per person will all go towards the charity.
