Thursday (01/05)
Music&Mike's

The next free lunchtime concert at St Michael's Church in the Market Place is at 1.15pm on Thursday.
It will be a recital by the talented local pianist Marie-Louise Taylor who will be performing works by Mozart, Liszt, Rachmaninov and Chopin.
The concert is a celebration of the centenary year of her father, pianist and author Harold Taylor, who was born in 1925. Entry is free.

Generations of Fun

Head over to Belong Macclesfield for Generations of Fun.
The weekly playgroup, which runs from 11am to midday, offers little ones the chance to explore a variety of fun activities including playdough, arts and crafts and Duplo.

Macclesfield in May

Saturday sees the start of the first-ever Macclesfield in May.
Day one of the free-entry festival focuses on live music, with performances from The View's Kyle Falconer and Sea Fever, among others.
The fun continues on Sunday, with outdoor cinema screenings, puppet shows and the Macclesfield FC trophy celebrations.

Lets Draw! Star Wars Special

May 4 is Star Wars Day.
To celebrate, cartoonist Marc Jackson will be showcasing his love of all things from a galaxy far, far away.
He will be hosting a special edition of his Lets Draw! workshop at Room for Comics.

MaccPride Picnic in the Park

Get ready for MaccPride with Picnic in the Park.
Expect live entertainment, a tombola, pride merch, and various stalls.
There will also be a dog show to determine this year's Pooch of Pride, as well as the TRANSCEND football match.
Held at Victoria Park, the event runs from 11m to 4pm.
SOBS Charity Fun Day

The Ivy Leaf pub is hosting a family fun day from 1pm to 6pm in aid of Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS).
There will be something for everyone, including a bouncy castle, food stalls, a raffle, a kids' disco and pool and darts tournaments.
"It's going to be an afternoon packed with smiles, laughter, and community spirit – fun for all the family!" reads the event listing.

VE Fest

Silktown Snooker Club are getting the VE Day anniversary celebrations started early with VE Fest.
From midday to 9.30pm, they will be hosting live music and a hog roast.
There will also be a Granelli's ice cream van and an outdoor pizza oven.
Staff will be wearing 1940s attire and guests are encouraged to do the same, with a £50 bar tab for the best dressed.
The event will help to raise money for the Macclesfield Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Club.
