A Macclesfield care village is eyeing up a string of awards.

The Belong Champion Awards take place later this month, celebrating the not-for-profit organisation's dedicated and hardworking staff, as judged by their customers.

Seven finalists will be representing the Kennedy Avenue village in Macclesfield, with five colleagues, one team and one volunteer in the running for awards.

Cheryl Davies, general manager at Belong Macclesfield, said: "The Champion Awards bring together our wonderful colleagues to shine a spotlight on the fantastic work they do supporting our customers.

"And with our customers at the heart of everything we do, they also play a starring role in the big celebration – both in its preparation and the night itself."

Nominations for the recognition awards come from across the organisation's services supporting older people in the North West and West Midlands, namely its care villages, Belong at Home home care, and Experience Days day care.

Customers' families, local community, and Belong employees are also invited to put forward votes.

In preparation for the glittering gala residents and tenants have been exercising their create flair by entering the winners' trophy design competition, as well as putting together table centrepieces to the theme of the arts.

The awards take place at Manchester Hall on January 30, with the finalists vying for the winners' podium with their counterparts from sister Belong villages.

Meanwhile, Belong Macclesfield will dress up, pop champagne and share canapés before settling down to watch the live feed of the ceremony to discover who will be taking home a coveted accolade, as determined by a panel of independent industry judges.

Cheryl added: "We really are one big family here and every year is always a special time coming together with all the Belong families.

"Of course, fingers will be crossed for our own finalists who we know are the best in Macclesfield!"
