College staff are 'overwhelmingly' happy at work.

Macclesfield College is celebrating 'exceptional' results from its latest Cultural Staff Survey, conducted through The Happiness Index platform.

The findings reveal a 'thriving, people first culture' that underpins the college's success and its ongoing commitment to students, staff and the wider community.

Marie Sheehan-Slade, director of HR and culture, said: "These results reflect the passion, commitment and care of our entire team.

"They also reinforce the message we want to share with our community - that Macclesfield College is not only a fantastic place to study, but a vibrant, values led organisation that's future focused and people powered."

Over the past three years staff happiness has increased from 75% to 82% while engagement rose from 74% to 82% - both well above the global benchmark of 77%.

The survey also highlighted that 92% of staff are committed to the success of the college, and 90% genuinely enjoy working with their colleagues.

Wellbeing remains a key priority, with 84% of staff satisfied with the freedom they have in their roles and 82% feeling able to manage their workload effectively.

Initiatives such as flexible working, including remote Fridays, have helped to create a healthier, more balanced working culture.

While the results are 'overwhelmingly positive', Macclesfield College say they remain focused on continuous improvement.

One area identified for development is clearer career progression pathways and work is already underway to address this.
