A spate of vandalism could lead to charges being introduced at public toilets.

Bollington Town Council have said they are monitoring recent incidents of vandalism at the toilets on Adlington Road.

Already costing the £4,000 a year to maintain, the council has warned they may look at introducing fees if this behaviour continues.

A statement shared on Tuesday, June 2, reads: "These are the only public toilets in Bollington and they cost Bollington Town Council around £4,000 per year to clean and stock.

"Recently, there has been an increase in vandalism.

"This not only adds to maintenance costs, but also creates an unpleasant environment for other users.

"We are monitoring incidents of vandalism and, if this continues, we may need to consider introducing a charging system."
