Spring fashion show coming to Macclesfield Silk Museum
A fashion show has been announced at Macclesfield's Silk Museum.
Totally Locally Macclesfield has joined forced with the Park Lane museum to host a fashion show this May.
The event will show the best of what Macclesfield has to offer.
And companies and individuals are being rallied to come to an organisational meeting for the event.
Jenni Rolph, who runs Rolph and Co photography is one of the organisers for the event.
"We are organising a fashion show to showcase what Macclesfield has to offer, mainly with regards to town centre shopping for clothes and shoes etc but also to show the public that Macclesfield is full of amazing small businesses and just to promote Macclesfield in general," she said.
"We have a date set for the fashion show of Saturday 18th May - it will be taking place at the Silk Museum.
"We are currently in the stages of approaching businesses to be part of the fashion show. We are also looking for models and everyday people who want to help.
"We also have a dance group interested in performing, local food & drinks vendors on board and also in talks with the fashion department at Macclesfield College about students being involved. It's a massive Macclesfield community event.
"With it being a Totally Locally event, everything is being done voluntarily and although we will be selling tickets, all profits will be going to East Cheshire Hospice."
"We are holding a meeting at The Picturedrome on Wedneday March 6 at 6pm for a fashion show meeting. We would love to see anyone interested there."
While OFFSETT and River Island have shut in recent times, Macclesfield still boasts a range of clothes shops, from chained stores like Peacocks and FatFace, to independents like Jola Designs, The Wardrobe, Mujer and Sophia Palucci Boutique.
