A teenager has been arrested following a 'suspicious' incident at Macclesfield Cemetery.

Cheshire Police were called to the Victorian cemetery on Prestbury Road on Monday (October 27) following reports of 'suspicious activity'.

Upon arrival, Special Constable Simon Gillespie located a 17-year-old male and 14-year-old girl.

The boy did not comply with the directions given and was subsequently sprayed with Captor Irritant.

He was then arrested on suspicion of sexual exposure and possession of class A drugs.

Investigations into other potential offences are underway.
