The Rossendale Trust has received a cheque for an incredible amount thanks to The Hollins' Macclesfield Golf Club.

The Sutton good cause has been presented with a cheque for over £5000 from Macclesfield Golf Club, to help support the essential work that the Trust does providing care and services to people with learning disabilities and complex care needs living in the local area.

Rita Barton, Lady Captain of Macclesfield Golf Club for the 2022/23 season chose to support the Trust during her year of captaincy and said she "was delighted with the amount raised" and thanked all members of the Golf Club for their invaluable support during her term.

Captain Paul Bowden chose to fundraise for The SeaShell Trust another local charity which also supports people with learning disabilities. They are based in Stockport.

Sue Heaven, Head of PR & Fundraising at the Rossendale Trust was invited to the Golf Club to receive a cheque and explained how much this donation means to everyone at the charity, "2023, sees us celebrate our 50th anniversary, a milestone we could not have reached without the support of our local community including organisations like Macclesfield Golf Club.

"We are in the process of renovating our outdoor spaces so that they can be enjoyed by more people who use our services and these funds raised by Rita and the members of the Club will help us to achieve our plans. So, thank you everyone who has supported the Captain and Lady Captain over the last 12 months."
