Bridge repairs are set to get underway.

Priest Lane in Kettleshulme will be shut for a week from Monday, July 28, Cheshire East Council has confirmed.

The closure is being put in place to allow for reconstruction work underneath the bridge.

During this time, the alternative route will be via Kishfield Lane, Macclesfield Road and Higher Lane.

Vehicular access will be restricted to emergency vehicles and residents where possible.

The temporary closure will also apply to cyclists, with pedestrian access limited to those requiring access to premises situated within the closure.

It is anticipated that the works will be complete by Friday, August 1.
