With Valentine's just around the corner, and people wanting to shop more local in the wake of the pandemic and climate crisis, we thought we'd highlight some great local talent.

Instead of buying your Valentine's card from a chain this year, why not support our town's great independent artists?

Here are some artists which are selling affordable Valentine's cards, made right here in Macclesfield.

  1. AmeliArt Designs

Amelia Jane is a Macclesfield digital artist with about 2,000 followers on Instagram.

Her adorable art style is complimented by perfect puns on her Valentine's Cards.

Her bananas card particularly made us chuckle!

She also sells other greetings cards and ones of Macclesfield landmarks.

  1. Jola Designs
A physical store you can visit on 15 Beech Lane, Jola Designs have the largest plethora of locally made Valentine's cards on this list. The Macclesfield designers located near Tytherington also have locally designed cards to buy online. Jayne Hadfield of Jola Designs earmarked the pictures 'I wuff you' card as her favourite. Prices start from £2.95.
  1. Ruth Denise Lear
If you're after a Valentine's card which fit in on your mantelpiece beyond February 14, Macclesfield artist Ruth Denise Lear offers cute artwork loosely guided by the theme of love. Ruth's cards have a more traditional look, and can be bought in the heart of Macclesfield. You can find her work in the Macclesfield Visitor Information Centre.
