Macclesfield: The Rossendale Trust presents exhibition of local artist
Local charity, The Rossendale Trust is very proud to present an exhibition by Alan Chapman, local artist and one of the founding members of the charity.
Visitors to Macclesfield's Tegg's Nose Country Park can visit the gallery, located in the Tegg's Nose tea rooms on Buxton Old Road, Macclesfield and view the exhibition from Thursday January 13 until February 9.
Alan first became interested in painting as a relaxing alternative to work and his love of painting continued throughout a busy career and an equally busy family life.
Over the years he has held several exhibitions in aid the Rossendale Trust and has also had his paintings exhibited at the Castle Gallery Macclesfield, Manchester Art House, Glyn-y-Weddw art gallery in Llanbedrog, Gwynedd and The Theatre by the Lake in Keswick.
This current exhibition will feature a stunning display of watercolours depicting both local and national scenes and all paintings will be available to purchase.
Alan has very generously donated his watercolour collection to The Rossendale Trust.
Proceeds from paintings sold will go directly to support the work of the charity.
Sue Heaven, Head of P.R and Fundraising at the Trust explains, "We are very fortunate to have such a beautiful collection of watercolours painted by Alan and we are sure that the public will appreciate Alan's work as much as we all do here at the Trust.
"Alan's paintings capture the stunning landscapes of Macclesfield and beyond and it seems very fitting that these are now on display at the Tegg's Nose Gallery."
The Rossendale Trust was established in 1972 by Alan, his wife Mary and another local family Ernie and Barbara Hyde.
The Trust continue today to support and provide opportunities to people with learning disabilities through the provision of their Supported Living accommodation, Oakwood Day Service and WorkTaste, a supported employment program.
