A chart-topping music group will be making their much anticipated return to Gawsworth Hall this August.

Country outfit The Shires are no strangers to Gawsworth Hall, having performed there twice previously. Once in 2019 (as part of a sell-out show), and most recently last year in August.

Now the duo, consisting of Ben Earle and Crissie Rhoades, look to make their show bigger and better than ever.

Since their formation in 2013, The Shires have fast become one of the biggest country acts in the country (pun intended).

Having both tried their luck on the X-Factor, to no avail, the pair met through social media in 2012, and soon put the country scene on notice with their breakthrough single Nashville Grey Skies.

Boasting five number 1 albums (in the Country charts) and two gold certified records, they have become an undeniable force on the UK music scene.

They have broken many records in their own right, with their debut album Brave being the first country album to enter the UK top 10 Album Charts.

Not only does their own career speak volumes, but they have also rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest stars our the nation has to offer, having supported the likes of Shania Twain, Tom Jones and Tears for Fears on their respective tours.

When he is not co-performing at venues like Gawsworth Hall near Macclesfield, guitarist, pianist and backing vocalist Ben Earle also hosts a show on Absolute Country Radio every Sunday from 9am-12pm.

Now they come back to the town as part 'Two of Us' tour, and will be taking to the stage on August 2, as the penultimate show in a summer of open air concerts at Gawsworth Hall, which featured acts such as Michael Portillo and Sandbach's Foden's Band.

Tickets for the event are priced at £38.00, which includes booking fee and restoration levy.

Attendees are advised to bring their own garden chair. The seating area is uncovered, and with the Macclesfield weather being as it is, we recommend you bring a brolly too.

To find more information about the event, and get your tickets, visit the Gawsworth Hall website.
