There's just over two weeks to go until a free-to-enter autumnal event in Macclesfield.

As the season changes, so too does the events calendar, with lots more events indoors as the weather gets cooler.

And the Macclesfield World Harvest Festival will take place on Saturday, September 7 2024.

This upcoming celebration will feature creative workshops, traditional cuisines, and a rich display of music and arts, representing the wonderful diversity of our community.

The event is free to attend.

It promises to be a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn, and enjoy the cultural wealth that attracts us to Macclesfield.

Organisers have described the event as 'vibrant'.

Michelle Brown is a volunteer for the World Harvest Festival Team Macclesfield.

"The project, 'Get to know your neighbour,' aims to weave together the diverse tapestry of Macclesfield's community with a world Harvest festival celebrating art, music and food," she said.

Other events will also be happening over the town.

"This initiative will not only celebrate our differences but also stitch us closer together, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of our neighbours, by preserving and passing on traditional skills, enhancing community engagement, and showcasing our collective creativity from cultures around the world.

"We are honoured to have the support from Macclesfield Town Council, Art Space, St. Michael's Church, the United Reform Church, St. Peter's Church, The Silk Museum, as well as Silk Life Church."

Events will be happening all over town on September 7, but the main host venue is the United Reform Church.
