Oh March! A wonderful month of the start of spring and longer evenings. Perfect for creative inspiration for Macclesfield's artists.

And this month will see three Macclesfield bands or solo musicians coming out with new music.

Here's what studio music we have to look forward to from our town in March.

  1. Megan Dixon Hood

Bollington musician Megan Dixon Hood will release her second single from her debut album this month.

The energetic ethereal performer's last single Third Lung took a dance influence, so it will be interesting to see how Hanged Man will sound when it releases on Friday March 4.

Her last music video was filmed in the Peak District.

You can listen to Megan's music here

  1. The Perps

Including their manager, half of The Perps are from Macclesfield, they record in our town, and are regulars at Mash Guru.

Oasis-vibes, big choruses and even bigger guitars, The Perps are also releasing their next single on March 4.

Their next release is a rapturous, euphoric track full of drum and guitar solos called Wake Up On Saturday. The Perps was kind to send Macclesfield Nub News an early preview of the track, and rest assured - it will knock your socks off!

It is the second track from their second EP, following October's Jeffrey Epstein-inspired single Megalomaniac. Listen to their previous tracks here.

They're playing a Battle of the Bands tournament at Mash Guru this weekend.

  1. Elliot Clayton

You'll recognise Elliot from weekend performances at pubs across Macc. The youngster, who has also performed with MADS Theatre, has sunny pop tunes with a contemporary feel.

His third-ever single will release on March 18. Updates on When You're Not Around can be found on his Instagram.

Previous single Hold Ya got almost 8,000 streams on Spotify.

And that was three Macclesfield musicians who are releasing music this month!
