Town council confirms plans for free-to-attend Halloween event

Ghosts and ghouls will descend on Silktown this Halloween.
Macclesfield Town Council has confirmed the return of the annual Spooky Saturday event, taking place on October 25.
A wide range of free-to-attend activities will be on offer, with those partaking encouraged to get in the Halloween spirit and wear fancy dress.
Town Mayor, councillor Emma Gilman, said: "I am so excited by the fantastic mix of elements we have lined up for Spooky Saturday.
"My mayoral theme is all about children, and it is great to see them enjoying the activities we put on.
"It would great if everyone came and enjoyed what we have planned."

Macclesfield Community Art Space will be located in the Grosvenor Centre and will be crafting spooky makes throughout the day in their Crafty Crypt.
There will also be a SEN specific session from 10am which will be bookable via Eventbrite nearer the time.
The crafts will be complimented by the Face Painting Queen in Market Place, and a new walkabout monster who is rumoured to come from the depths of the Humber, roaming the town

Over 30 local businesses and shops will be taking part in the Pumpkin Trail, with maps available from council staff and volunteers in Market Place on the day.
Follow the pumpkins around town and return your completed map to claim your prize.
Elsewhere, local independent business Bubblebeez will be making their event debut, creating spooky cauldron bath bombs.
As with all Macclesfield Town Council events, certain bus routes in and around the town will be free to ride.
