There will be a new public transport operator in town from next month.

Manchester's Belle Vue Coaches will take on the Monday to Saturday Stockport to Macclesfield route.

Along the way, the journey passes through Poynton, Adlington, Bollington and Tytherington.

Belle Vue Coaches Tobias Dekker said: "I can confirm that we are taking over on routes 391 & 392 from 1st August 2023."

"To complement these existing routes we have also introduced an express 393 service which will operate every morning Monday to Saturday from Stockport to Macclesfield – An additional return journey at 17:50 from Macclesfield will operate on Saturdays.

"The 391 & 392 services will continue to operate to the same timetable, however the 17:50 391 journey will be extended from Poynton to Hazel Grove Rail Station to enable better connections with other bus/rail services. We are delighted to be extending our operations to serve a wider population in Cheshire and Greater Manchester as our company continues to expand.

"We have also invested in a new ticketing system and will therefore be looking at possibly taking contactless payments on these 3 services.
