A luxury spa has opened in central Macclesfield.

The opening of Naga Beauty and Spa - on King Edward Street - means there's one less empty building in our town centre.

They will offer massages, facial spa, waxing and lashes services.

The new venture has created five jobs, and offers an unrivalled atmosphere of relaxation.

Naga Beauty and Spa is co-ran by friends Kipsy Day and Ladapa Simma.

Ladapa, who along with her business partner is originally from Thailand, moved from Singapore to Macclesfield almost three years ago.

She explained to Macclesfield Nub News what the new business is all about.

"We are proud to open in Macclesfield", said Ladapa.

"We see the town and Cheshire as a place for opportunity.

"Everyone that lives here are very nice, and we look forward to welcoming clients from here.

"My business partner has been in the massage and beauty treatment industry a long time.

"We met by accident, but we both found we had the same inspiration to open our own place, so that is why we have decided to do this."

They can offer massages, waxing and more seven days a week. (Image - Macclesfield Nub News)

When asked why she thinks it is important for people to use a spa in the hustle and bustle of modern life, Ladapa had this to say:

"People today work really hard," she added.

"Most of our clients have what we call office syndrome [a massage that alleviates the inflammation of neck, shoulder and back muscles from sitting down all day].

"I feel really great when a client comes in for a trapped nerve for example and then says at the end of it 'oh I feel so much lighter', or that 'it was a success'.

"I really love my job."

The most popular service is a Naga signature full body massage. It is a bespoke technique combining Thai and deep tissue massage.

This Asian-European fusion technique costs £65.

Highlights from this service include a warm ball of herbs that is pressed against tissue to relieve pressure, while at the same time a delicious smelling vapour is released into the air to further ease you into relaxation.

"We plan to hire more therapists and masseuses", Ladapa also said.

"We have four rooms, and five beds. I specialise in waxing as well.

"I want to use our skills to help the local community who want to work in a job in the massage and beauty treatment industry. I am happy to train them."

They are situated in the corridor of 2B King Edward Street (just before the King Edward Street Chapel). One business down from Room for Comics.

The business works by an appointment-only basis, for which you can book them during the advertised hours on the image. (Image - Macclesfield Nub News)

If you have trouble finding it, please give the business a call upon arrival.

Naga Beauty and Spa can be followed on Facebook and Instagram.

They are the second new beauty business to open in Macclesfield this month, alongside Pink Nails.

Ladapa designed the logo and flyers for the company herself, but her and Kipsy are currently looking for someone to design them a website. (Image - Macclesfield Nub News)
