What claims to be Cheshire's 'number one family friendly festival' has announced that 2024 will be their final event.

Macclesfield Festival, set to take place next weekend on Priory Lane, announced this week that the 2024 edition will be the last one.

Since its establishment in 2017, Macclesfield Festival has been regarded as one of the highlights of the year for Cheshire families, with thousands of regular visitors attending from as far away as Australia.

The event has gathered huge names since its inception, through The Virgin Marys to CBeebies Rastamouse making a feature at the event.

The show presents live music stages full of top tribute bands, dance tents, a stage for kids and much more, for a great family day out.

The news was confirmed on social media.

"We have some fantastic memories to go away with", the MaccFest team said.

"Its been a roller coaster journey and its always a mammoth effort to put this on.

"We hope you will all turn out to support our final event"

The summer festival this year features not only amazing music, such as local DJ Rob Thurston and an incredible line up of cover bands such as Queen, ABBA, Oasis, Madness just to name a few.

There will also be an amazing food court featuring Greek, Asian, Spanish and more food, with some yummy dessert stands too.

The kid's stage features superhero and princess shows, magic, dance and talent shows, and a multitude of stalls for toys face paint, glitter tattoos and much more.

The Festival always makes sure to go all out every year, and with a huge fireworks finale the 2024 Macclesfield Festival will cap off a truly memorable finale to this fun-packed event.

The event will be held on Saturday July 20 at Macclesfield Rugby Union Football Club.
