What is on at the Treacle Market this weekend?
It is the Treacle Market this weekend, and it is safe to say that it will be the best of the year yet.
There are some huge new additions, warmish weather, and a free souvenir for thousands to enjoy.
Macclesfield Nub News met with the organisers of the Treacle Market at Honest Crust's The Depot at Chestergate, to see what is going on in Treacletown this Sunday.
The big new addition to Macclesfield's artisan market this month is at The Picturedrome.
The Treacle Market and The Picturedrome has joined forced to bring eight new stalls to the town.
There are eight stalls at The Picturedrome's Chestergate courtyard, who are all making their Treacle Market debuts.
Squadra Football will be selling vintage football shirts.
Kept Goods will be selling vintage clothes.
Kala Walsh Ceramics from Marple will be selling pottery.
Oak and Fox will be selling handmade gifts.
CC Designs will be selling cushions.
Rooks and Roses will sell rings and necklaces inspired by nature.
Fairytale Lane will be bringing their unique Cheshire gifts like no other.
The opening hours for The Pictudrome stalls will also be at 10am to 3:30pm like the rest of the market, but The Picturedrome as a food hall itself will be open from 9am if you want a pre-market bite or brew.
The Picturedrome are similar to the Treacle Market, in that they support independent, artisanal businesses.
"We are delighted to partner with The Picturedrome," said Becky Thompson Treacle Market Co-Organiser.
"We have been crying out for more space fore a long time now. We get so many excellent trders who come to Treacle that can't fit in.
"So when Nick and Jen asked us, we jumped at the chance.
"The infrastructure there is fantastic, fix tables, toilets, cupboards, we are very happy to enter this collaboration.
"We are excited to collaborate with so many more fabulous artisanal local businesses
"To work together officially it is a huge honour. It will also help get footfall down this side of Chestergate."
"We think it is a great model for collaborative working with other businesses in the centre of Macc, with appropriate space. We can collaborate with you and make that space work", said Andy Thompson, Treacle Market Co-organiser.
The Treacle Market Social Media Manager Leigh Jennings said: "We have always shared The Picturedrome on social media, their vendors have always had pop-ups to coincide with Treacle Market, so no we can work together."
"The Treacle Market is a community and it should stay that way."
Head to The Picturedrome's outdoor yard to see who all the extra stalls are.
There is also a big new change in the marketing of the Treacle Market, as it has a brand new map.
Designed by Macclesfield resident Dick Vincent, the artist's new map will be a fun collectible for locals, or useful resource for the coach passengers that come from afar to experience Treacle.
And a local business was employed for the physical copy of the maps, with Macclesfield printer Minuteman Press was used to print the new maps.
Elsewhere, there will be Tommy's bar as the mobile tipple on at this weekend's Treacle Market. (It is the same business that runs the pizzeria of the same name on Buxton Road.
Smugglin' Budgies and Bollington Light Opera will be on the music.
Macclesfield Beer Festival will have a stall selling tickets.
"We are very happy to support them, as we do every year, it is a fantastic community event for a great charity," said Becky.
"They will be on Market Place, right in the centre of the market which is great as the event will raise funds for Cheshire Search and Rescue."
Furthermore, Woodside Apothecary will be making their Treacle Market debut in the old Butter Market.
The Treacle Market is on all over Macclesfield this Sunday, 10am to 3:30pm.
The artisan market boasts street food, candle makers, artists, jewellers and silversmiths, seamstresses and homeware curators.
